Open access, copyright, and licensing
Authors keep their copyright. Readers get clear, stated reuse terms.
Copyright
Authors retain copyright in their work. By publishing here, an author grants the journal a non-exclusive right to publish, distribute, archive, and display the article, and to deposit its metadata with registration and indexing services. No transfer of copyright is required.
Licences
The journal's default licence for new articles is CC BY 4.0. The licence actually applied is shown on each article page and in its citation exports.
Access model
Articles are published open access unless an individual article records a different access model, in which case the article page states plainly that access is restricted and what is required to obtain it. The abstract, keywords, MLA citation, and metadata of every article are public regardless of access model.
Self-archiving
Authors may deposit the submitted, accepted, and published versions in an institutional or subject repository at any time, with no embargo, provided the deposit links to the version of record. Preprint posting before or during review is permitted and must be disclosed at submission.
Third-party material
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reuse figures, tables, long quotations, datasets, and model outputs that they do not own, and for stating the permission in the manuscript.
